Washed Bayou, Then Wouldn't Start??

Persinally, if my four wheeler couldn't pass the old car wash, then I would be afraid to go into the woods......take it to a dealer and find the real problem, cause this shouldn't happen. i had a bayou 300 that did that when it was brand new......seems that a plug end was open and the first puddle i went thru stopped it cold. So I took my bayou back to the dealer & told them to fix it or give me a refund.......so they fixed it and I never had the problem again. Now I have a praire300 4x4 2001 model, been dipped and washed many times w/o a problem....even the power wash doesn't afeect it..so get it fixed

Kapt..,
I agree with you. I was surprised when it would not start after getting wet. Particularly since i had just run it thru deep puddles and it ran fine. With the benefit of another week of ownership, I have learned it was not the wash that caused the trouble. I now realize i have an intermitent electrical problem. My research tells me it is the Stator or CDI box. Don't know which yet. I need to purchase an Ohm meter and learn how to use it. Sometimes it sparks, sometimes it doesn't. Strangly, when it is running, it does not loose spark it seems to only occur when starting. Wait a few mintues and keep trying the starter and eventually the spark comes back.
