The title says it all , I had the 02 prairie 650, I bought a 04 660 Griz in Feb of 04 and I like it but are seriuosly thinking of going back to the 650 Brute sra. Has anybody gone backwards like that to a 650 sra instead of going to the bigger 750 irs brute? I just miss the sporty feel of the sra ,and I believe that you can get a good ride out of the coffee can sized rear shock on the sra . I know you cant get the ride of an IRS but you can make it comfy. I would like to see a 750 brute sra.Any takers ?

 

I did not take a step back but I do ride the BRUTE 650 SRA. I love this machine!! I like having the sport feel with the capabilities of the utility quads and not to mention 4x4. I have rode with bigger machines and have little to no problem keeping up. I do lose a little in ground clearance compared to the IRS machines but the trade off is well worth it. I don't think you will be disappoinetd if you go to the Brute 650 SRA. Just my opinion!

 

I went and gave the 650sra to the wife and bought the 750i and now I have the best of both worlds

 

ive seen many miss or go back to the sra. Many cant get rid of the sporty feel they like so much. The price is right too.

 

i like my sra,wouldnt have it any other way good for towing!

 

I have the 03 prarie 650 4x4. My brother bought the 07 or 08 bf 750. He said he like his. I rode his and don't like it at all. I can't slide in the corners on his as well as I can on mine. Plus his handle bars are to close- alot closer than on my prarie. His bf has alot more power than mine, I like that. But that's the only thing I like about the bf. And the IRS on the bf...... no thanks! I like the solid axle and its feel.

 

Love my 03 P650. Everyone else does, too. It's a blast to run and its so smooth. It does get hung up alot on obstacles and high centered in some mud ruts, but that depends a lot on the operator. Knowing what I know now, I would have bought a BF650 instead of the 750. Not much HP difference and the engine is smoother. But I'm still keeping my Prairie 650SRA.

Not only do they look awesome but they turn the quad into a monster. Just look at mine. My spacers stand up to everything I put them through. I do 4-8' jumps, take corners faster than most Z400's and do wheelies alot easier. They were supposed to be a direct fit but I had to drill-out 3 lug holes on each front wheel and all 4 on the rear. Since the wheel are aluminum, it took me about 3-4 min. for each hole. If you go any faster you take a chance on heat dissipating and cracking or warping the wheel. I've had people tell me that I'll need a machine shop to do it but if you take your time like I did, there's no hang-ups.

 

I have both, SRA P700 and IRS BF750. I don't get the same confident feeling when I ride IRS 750 fast as that I get from the SRA 700. P700 is the best ute ATV, handling/power/reliability wise, Kawi has ever produced IMO.
