Does anyone know anything about the recall on Prairie belts? My Prairie is a '99 4x4 and slips a lot. Has anyone heard of a Generation 2 belt?

 

Yes there was a recall on some prairie belts, check your dealer if yours is affected by the recall they will replace it.

 

get it to the dealer ASAP, it could make you crash!! They will install a newer version of the belt for free

 

What kind of belts do Kawasaki put on there machines? I find on high powered snowmachines that Dayco and goodyear hold up the best for me.On my bike I guess it would not matter much because it does not make the horse power or RPM to stress any belt made.

 

I think it ain't much more than a rubber-band. You got to wind it up to go!

 

Roman- are you riding a 300 or a 400?
The dealer will replace your belt under the recall.

 

A 300 4x4. I called the dealer today and am carrying it in tomorrow. I hope that will solve that squealing problem.

 

I just got my wheeler back from the shop. They replaced the belt for nothing. I found the old belt laying on my gun rack. The namebrand on the belt was Mitsubishi. So I guess they manufacture them, too.
