I've had this machine since new and over the past year or so it has developed what I would call a tranny slip, you put it in gear and it takes a second or two before it engages, doesn't matter which gear same thing each time.
Should I go for a new belt and if so how difficult is it to change. If not any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

You can adjust the belt deflection by removing shim(s) in the driven converter (pulley set), but on a 8 year old quad I would replace the belt. Normally you would need a special tool to hold the crank to loosen the main bolt on the drive converter when replacing the belt. I suggest you get a service manual if you will keep the quad for a while. But I've seen a guy changing a belt with bare hands.
