Default 05 Brute Force 650 lack of power

I am new to the Kawasaski world...just bought a 2005 Brute 650 (160 hours) in the late summer. My problems started over Christmas weekend. I got the quad out and had a tough time getting it started and when I finally got it started it was idling really rough. I let it warm up for a while and when it smoothed out a little I took off. The quad seems to run okay but has no top end...would only top out at about 31 mph in a flat field and had no power on the low end. When I hit the gas at a stand still or slight roll it would hesitate and never really grab and go like it did when I first got the quad. Couldn't get over a 8" log at a crawl on the trail, had to back up and get a run at it to pop over the log. Any suggestions....plugs, carbs, other?

Any help would be much appreciated...

carb, most likely.. or if you are in a very cold area, summer ga has a different formulation..

more likely, carb is junked up..

probally carb, but you might want to also check the air filter.
