Bayou 300 Centrifugal Clutch
#1
A friend has a 95 Bayou 300 2wd that I think needs a new centrifugal clutch. I offered to help him put it in if he buys it. It's a $250 part ! But anyway, I haven't ever done one of these but I've done regular clutches. Is this a DIY job and if so, do I need any special tools?

In two occasions you may need special tools as following:
1. When removing the primary clutch hub nut, you need a special tool (or something you wedege in) to hold the primary gear and secondary gear.
2. When removing the balancer drive gear nut, you need a special tool (or something that would fit the spider shaped nut).
I would not buy special tools just for doing this one time job, no way. Open up the right side engine cover and see if you can improvise something instead.
