Default Kawasaki Lakota Transmission Cover

Hey guys, i need some help on this one.. About a week ago i was riding my lakota and the chain popped off and, of course, broke the transmission cover. I ordered a used one off of ebay and a new gasket from chapparral. After i got everything back together and filled up the oil, it was dripping from the bottom right of the cover i just put on, right under the shifter. I checked that out and it turns out that the cover had a crack in it above and below that bolt in the corner. Im unsure if it had the crack when i got it, or if i cracked it when i was tightening the bolts. So i drained the oil back out and took it off. I sanded the inside and outside of the crack and put some JB weld on it because it wasnt broken off, just a crack about an inch long. After that cured i put that cover back on and now its leaking from the other side, where the reverse linkage hooks up and i noticed a crack there!! I ordered a brand new cover and gasket but can i resuse the seals? What is causing the cracks? I dont think im over tightening anything, im only using a 1/4 inch drive ratchet. Can something be bent thats putting it on a bind or whats going on? Its driving me nuts.. thank guys...
