Default brake issue?

i have a 2002 bayou 220. i bought it and the brakes didnt work. I bought a new set front and back they worked good, i went through a mud hole about 1 foot deep and the brakes wouldnt work. let them dry out still nothing. took brakes back and put new ones on and once i go through water they stop working and wont grab again until i get new ones put on. can anyone give me advise on this?

I only see 39 views on my screen.....Is your brakes wet when go back into them? Do you have bearing movement in wheels or axles? I t take memebers time to get on board here some people work or dont turn puter on until later..

ya im only seeing 49 on my screen.. a quick Google search and it looks like the bayou uses drum brakes all the way around? Don't forget all brakes need a break in period to set the shoe/pad to the drum/disk. This can be as quick as a quick run around the yard or a few hours of riding depending on how bad the mating surface is. Drum brakes when adjusted properly are marginal at best for braking power. After they dry out have you went back and re adjusted? I know on my prairie with rear drums as soon as i go through water they are done for for the rest of the day unless i ride them and hear them up to dry out. How long you letting them dry out? Also are your cables pulling nice and smooth? they could be binding as well.

he demands answers and he wants them yesterday!
probably needs new seals on his drums too. once you get mud in there its all over.

Yea mine does the same thing! Took every thing apart down to the little springs and cleaned and greased it. But it still does it. Only my hand brakes don't work ether it doesn't pull the brake enough to stop it. And I have adjusted the cable and everything. So I don't have brakes on mine! 😳 but my land is mostly flat anyway.
