Well I finished bolting the motor together mon. night and it started on the 3 hit of the start button!(yes my Mojave has elc. start). I let it run for a 1/2 hr. and so far so good. It ended up costing me $160 for the machine work and another $110 in parts. (gaskets, head bolts, rings, 2 intake valves and 4 valve seals) Now I have to break it in, 2hrs. of no more then 1/2 throttle. (thats hard to do I have to screw the throttle stop in 1/2 way) Anyone hear of other break in procedures for Wiseco pistons?
I will have more pictures up on my site soon with close ups.
I will be curious to see if my overheating problem disappears, and I will be sure to update after my first ride, maybe this weekend if it doesn't ran. TTYL.

I checked your site and your quad looks nice. How much was the electric start kit and was it hard to install? Did you do it yourself? I've noticed that the rev limiter on mine seems to kick in to early, but maybe it's just me! Did you notice a big difference with the rev limiter off and does it effect engine life if reved high then the limiter did allow? Thanks

Congratulations on a job well done. Be sure and report on the overheating situation. To get a good break in ride at as many different speeds and rpm ranges as possible ( except for hammering it) during the first few hours.

The elc. start kit was $400 plus a battery ($35). The hardest part of the install was removing the fly wheel from the end of the crank. You have to do that so you can press a ring gear on the flywheel. After that it was a easy I would also recommend buying a kill switch from a dirt bike and wiring it as the start button, the button that comes with the kit is just OK and you mount it opposite the reverse ****, not on the handle bars.
The black box mod was hard for me to assess because I had all those mods done at the same time. I don't remember hitting the rev limiter much before the mods. You do need stronger valve springs because you will be reaching higher RPMs therefore it is possible to "float" the valves. (not good) It shouldn't affect engine life. Thanks for going to the site, I will have pictures of the elc. start on the site soon. Hope this helps....Jeff

Thanks, thats pretty much what I had in mind. It looks like rain most of this weekend so it will probably have to wait. TTYL
