Recently I purchased a oem fuel petcock for my 2000 Kawasaki bayou 300 4x4. After receiving it I was told it was not compatible and it was for the 2x4 bayou. Looked it up on a parts list and all of its components were the same numbers except the two screws that attached it to the tank. Also petcock housing was a bit different but looked like it would still work. Does anyone know if this petcock will work or are they really that different?

 

According to Babbitts parts books the taps are different part numbers 51023-1351 against 51023-1356, but the only way to find out if the tap will fit is to try it.
