Default 98 Prairie 400 4x4 Oil in water and air box

1998 Prairie 400 4x4, suddenly it’s started getting oil into the air box. Noticed it draining out of the main air tube. Also, checked my coolant reservoir and it’s very milky like it’s getting oil into the coolant. Related issues or totally separate? Also, the oil level is significantly lower than when i started my ride, so it wasn’t due to overfilling. Dosnt seem to be any water in the oil, however, i plan to drain it when i get home to know for sure. I wondered if valves may be blowing oil back through it, but could use some more ideas, thanks in advance.

Don't know much about the 400 but would guess at the head gasket having blown into oil and water passages so compression is leaking into the oil, and oil is leaking into the water.

Yeah, you’re probably right. Guess it’s time to start in on it. Thanks for the confirmation y’all. Anyone ever do a rebuild on one of these prairie’s? Much of a pain, or about the same as similar years and models?

I read some parts are getting hard to find so you might research the parts you might need to see if they are available before doing too much. I have a 2000 Prairie 400 and that would be my concern.....

Yeah, I’ve noticed parts aren’t as available for that model. But i do have the top end gasket kit with most of what i need, assuming it really is just the head gasket. Guess I won’t know for sure until i get into it.
