Default Bushing on gear shifter

I have a 2003 Lakota 300KEF. It has a leak on gear shifter shaft so I changed the seal and it still is leaking so I went on line and saw that there is a metal bushing that goes in then the seal.I was wondering if anyone has changed this part or has any experience with it?Looks like bushing goes in first then seal the seal slips over it in my hand a bit tight but possible it needs to be that big to seal leak? I have a picture of it from the blue print anyone with any advice or help will be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance
