I started off with replacing primary clutch due to bike still wanting to take off when I was coming to a stop. Installed new primary and new belt as well. Then after replacing primary, it still did same thing. Replaced secondary clutch and bike is still wanting to take off when coming to a stop. I was told I need to add shims, others told me I need to remove shims. Does any of that shim stuff sound correct even tho primary, belt and secondary are all new? Thank you

Yes, it is a shimmed assembly. I have never had to do it as, unless you get a short new belt, the factory setting should be correct. However as you have fitted all new parts, they will need shimming up. I suggest you get a workshop manual, far cheaper than buying all those new variator parts, but too late now. The shims are in between the driven pulleys, looks like the more you put in, the slacker the belt at idle but I note the parts list shows colour coded "covers" of various thicknesses on the drive pulley, I would guess this too would alter the shimming. Finally, none of this will work if idle speed is set to high, as the front pulley starts to drive at a certain engine speed.
