On the next to the last riding day of the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree, my 650 started a loud growling, howling, whinning noise at forward speeds speeds below 5mph. I had a Kawasaki rep ride it and listen to it. He told me to go on and ride it as I would do no damage to it. He said the problem might be the speed sensor or a shim and maybe the belt and to take it to my dealer when I got home. By the end of the next day, it was so loud I was embarrassed to ride it as everyone looked to see where all the racket was coming from. I called the dealer today and told him the symptoms and he said he had no idea what the problem might be but he would call Kawasaki Monday. He also told me that his most experienced mechanic had quit but the other one he had left was working hard but had not ever worked on a 650!!! Talk about high level of confidence that my 650 will get properly and timely repaired!!!!! Have any of you folks experienced this problem? Would appreciate any pertinent advice or comments!!!!

sounds like your belt has been glazed(to much heat/friction) or your deflection is out of spec
