Lakota Jet kit Problems
#1
I put the DYNOJET KIT IN FOR MY LAKOTA. Something is not right. It accelerates as slow as a bus and after I get to half throttle it doesn't accel. any more. I still can twist the throttle all the way around butt no acceleration. I have a stock pipe and intake, but I have drilled a few holes in my snorkel and cap , does this matter? I will appreciate any help any one can offer. Coy

coyeverage,
This sounds like the slide isn't opening.
First take the top off of the carb, like you did to remove the slide to drill the lift whole.
It sounds like that diaphram on top is not installed correctly. double check it.
I'm not sure of your mods but it sounds just like a slide staying shut.
If you want to check this, find a way to look into the back of the carb and hit the gas. The slide should jump rite up.
Good Luck!!!

Gaff, thanks for comming to the rescue, I did kinda what you said. I took of the air cleaner uct where it reaches the carb and stuck my finger in it and turned the throttle, it doesn't move .. whats up should it move ?

Yes it should move.
I want to let you know I haven't had the lakotas carb apart yet, so my statements are blanket statements for all cv carbs.
The top cover (on top of the carb) remove this, you should see a rubber diaphram. Thier is a outside grove that the lip of the diaphram fits in, insure that the diaphram is in this grove and then the cover will seal it.
Even a hair out will upset the vaccum flow required to move the slide.
This is a simple most common problem with the complaint you discribed.
Also while you have the top cover off, insure thier is no pin holes in the diaphram. The diaphrams are pretty tough so you maybe still alright.

everage,
You say you stuck your finger in and twisted the throttle and the slide did not open. You did not say whether or not it was running. It must be running to get the slide to open because it takes engine vacumn to open it. Try to look in and see the slide while you gas it with it running, your hand and finger will disrupt the air flow some if you use that method.
Also, without it running you can stick your finger in and raise the slide all the way up and then let it go. If it slams down hard and fast you have a problem with a vacumn leak. It should return a little slow and not slam against the bottom.
