ID the year of a T3 motor

I thought about the KIPS thing before and being an 86 or 87, but I saw an 85 this summer with a KIPS cylinder and the guy thought it was the original motor. I appreciate the help guys and it is very possible that it is a KX Motor. I am planning on sticking the engine in a spare Mojave chassis I have had sitting around when I finish with my Tecate4.
