Hello Everyone,

I'm in the process of finding the best deal on a 2002 Kawasaki Prairie 650 V-Twin and came across the a brand new 2002 Kawasaki Prairie 650, out the door, including shipping to my front door for $6800.00. Is this a good deal or do you think that I can do better than that?

I was thinking about waiting for the 2003 Kawasaki Prairie 650, so that Kawasaki can fix any bugs that are on the current model

All I need to do is sell my Raptor and I will be in business.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Seems like dealers are letting them go for $6500-$6600 out the door. (I was told that dealers typically have up to 10% negotiating room from MSRP.) What are you being charged for shipping to your door?

Dextreme,

I'm not sure of the exact amount of the shipping charges, but I will find out. I still may wait until the fall for the 2003 models. I'm indecisive.

To wait for the 2003's is some will power you have. I couldn't wait that long...and so far, I have no complaints for the 2002...it has exceeded my expections of what a ute can be (I am a very happy camper).

I would wait ! I myself bought the 400 praire the first year,And although I love it and have never regreeted buying it ,within a very short time (it seemed) I was reading the rundown on the next year bike, more horsepower, changes in the trans, different more tested shifter, lighter racks ect. Which meant updates and minor recalls on parts in the trans, brakes and tie rods ends and that meant downtime. Kawi was great on taking care of these thing, but looking back now I remember getting "Dirtwheels mag" and thinking "damm the new ones got more power!!". more of anything is good, right? good luck in trying to wait

sirpphsyco,- Thats why I traded my 97 in for a 99. All the hype and the digital dash.
So I am also waiting to see if they update the 650 like they did the 400. These atv's are getting way to out fo hand with trying to stay on top. It reminds me of the sportbike wars. Every year a new improved, lighter, faster model comes out that makes your couple of year old model seam old-tech.
I'm trying not to join the newer is better fever and stick with my 400 until the price drops or impovements are made on the 650/660.
