Digital,
You should see an increase in bottom end grunt and throttle response.As to how much,,,,its hard to say.I saw on here someone that did that plus the exhaust, he claimed a considerable increase.You will be the first that I see with that specific setup.(no aftermarket exhaust)

I'm hoping you'll istall 'em and let the rest of us know what YOU think.

Digital650, I do not believe it is a waste of time to not install the jet kit, even though you do not have a pipe. I feel the K&N is a big enough change to probably benefit from improved jetting.

However, not having made huge changes to the engine, you may not gain very much. Try putting some uni vents (or holes) in the airbox lid. That will wake it right up.

Don't forget to tell grizjeeper how big your tires are. I want dirt devils too, but do I have to get the 28" ones just to get a tire over 26"?

PS. Sys admin here too, but with a MS in Mech Engineering. Computer d o r k plus motor d o r k. Funny how that d.o.r.k word is forbidden.

Yes Grizzjeeper, 24.5 on front and back. I thought that 27"s would be too big for higher speeds and didn't want to bother with the 25"s. I had like 50 flat's with the crappy stockers. Got a pretty good deal on them:

Front
Rear

I got them because they have free shipping. There are the Dirt Devil XT's and AT's I assumed that these were going to be that AT's but they are the XT's. They have a much meaner looking tread then the picture shows.

Hey Swoopman, did you get the full exhaust or the slipon? What kind of deal did you get?

I got the full exhaust system, not sure if the extra 200.00 was worth it but at least it looks better than the stock front pipe that already had rust spots on it. I paid $534 and some change for full system, including Jet Kit, K&N Filter and removable spark arrestor.

Off topic, I have what sounds like a belt moaning right as I take off. It happens in either gear, 2 or 4 but not in neutral. If I'm already moving it does not do it. If I give real low throttle, not enough to move, from a stopped position it does it. If you do this for a little while you can smell burning rubber. I'm guessing it's the drive belt, but like I said I dont know much when it comes to fixing these beasts.

Digital, My belt squaked like that and the dealer had to re shim the belt drive, did it under warrenty.

NYROCK;
If I had to do it again I would have bought 27's, giving the discrepancy in actual size. They ride very well. smooth. Very flat in the rear.. Perfect for burning around a corner!!! They do look very aggressive but do not perform any way near as well as titan 589's in mud.

Where does one get uni vents/hole filters for the airbox lid? Have you done this to yours? If so, would you snap a photo of it?
