HELP I need a skid plate
#11
So far I've been happy with the Armordillo plate on my P650. It's holding up well on the rocks and my theory is because it flexes and slides. The metal ones don't have the flex, metal dents, nor do they have the lubricity of the Armordillo. Even though the Armordillo flexes, it is not enough to whack anything soft on the belly. I ride in a rocky creek that is shale. It's very sharp stuff and I haven't had an issue - yet. It also does a much better job than the stock plates at stop sticks and the like from jamming up in the belly. It's the full coverage that made me decide to try the Armordillo.
Of course, it is still way too soon to tell how they'll do long term. Who knows, they may not make it through the summer, but so far they are doing well.
