Found a hole in my radiator already. It is on the backside, lower center, just above the center bracket holding the rad in place. I have no idea how something could get in there to make a hole. Upsets me greatly.
Anyway, I am sure the dealer will call it "wear and tear" and will not fix it on warranty. I will try though.

Anyone ever priced a radiator for the 650? Am I talking a ton 'o' cash?

When I asked the dealer to order one in for me and then I would bring it in for warranty they said that the couldn't that the radiator runs about $500 and they would have to make sure that it was just manifacture error.

Yep, just got off the phone: $487.50!!!!!! I was floored. Needless to say I am NOT going to spend my money on that. Looks like a little repair job is in the works.

Try taking it to a local radiator shop they can fix them for far less if mine wouldn't have been under warrenty that is what I was going to do.

Sounds like the same problem that I had. The lower arm on the fan bracket broke where it was spot welded near the fan motor. Because of the long "finger" vibrating, it separated the radiator near where the bracket was bolted on the underside of the radiator. This also caused my fan to bounce into the radiator. Kawasaki replaced the fan and radiator under waranty....but when the parts came in, I took the fan and bracket home and welded them before they were reinstalled so it wouldnt happen again. Good luck.

I will have to take a close look at it. I will check to see if that is my case. If it is, then they will cover it.

Holy Cow! - Maybe honda was onto something with their air cooled quads.

a guy i know had a leak in his p650 rad (only had 60km on it 37 miles) i say try some bar leaks, or Gunk stuff. it worked in my Kodiak, and some cars i know of. it's worth a try (4 bucks cdn, 2-3 U.S.) like mentioned before (if that doesn't work) a local rad shop could re-core it for hundreds less!

Lurch-- nyroc mentions the radiator fan mounting bracket in his 650 website. You should be able to have a radiator shop repair it, IF it is repairable. If it isn't, turn it in on your insurance.
DO check into the warranty aspect of the radiator fan motor mount bracket that fails.
I would NOT recommend using those "miracle" stop leak chemicals, as I have seen various other small passages in an engine clogged by that stuff. I won't use it in my engines!
