Rolled my prairie the other day. crawling up a rutted-out hill and my stock dunflops rolled sideways on me and over I went into a 5 or 6 foot ditch. I had my brain-bucket on, so I was fine, just worried about my quad. My friend who was riding behind me said that my zooter rolled 3 times before coming to stop in its side. I jumped up, and tipped it back over (these things are heavy too) and shook everything, it was all good and tight. Rode up out of the ditch with a bit of winching (OK, alot of winching) and took off. Looked at it the next day in daylight, turns out that I bent the handlebars a bit (so little, I couldn't tell the night before) and bent one of the stock wheels, didn't even break any of the plastic. One of the fellas that I was riding with said that it was the same place that he had totaled out his scrambler. I have just under 150 miles. One good thing is that now I can ride it right instead of just cringing waiting for that first scratch.
PS. Don't worry none, I just put on some new Kenda Bear Claws, no more sidewall collapse for these baby's!

Glad you escaped the Grim Rider, and that you did not get serious body or quad damage.
Please let me know hoe those claws ride and handle. Power loss?
I realize you don't have the largest diameter claws. But claws are kinda on the heavy side. I am curious as to what to get for the next tire.

Nyroc, after all the help and info that you have given to everyone on this board, I will give you an exhaustive critique including pictures.
One reason that I didn't see a problem with the heavier tires (besides the fact that I AM putting them on a PRAIRIE,) was that out of the 130 miles on the quad so far, about 120 of them have been in low gear crawling up some hill (or attempting to) or sloshing around in some mud. I have 20 hours on it, so that gives you an idea of my average speed. besides, the fella's that I ride with 99% of the time, one has a 400 big bear, and the other has a 300 Honda, so I could probably take the 33x12.50's off my truck and put them on the quad and still not have a problem keeping up with them

Conman,
How do the Bear Claws fit? Do they protect the rim? What size are they? Are they close as far as rolling diameter goes? Do they stick out past the fenders? I am looking for replacement tires. I have 25" Bear Claws on my daughter's Kodiak. Any pictures? Thanks!!

ozarkrockhound,
I haven't been able to ride with them yet becuase of a bent rim. I took Nyroc's suggestion of sticking with stock rims to protect more costly parts. I have a rim ordered from the dealer and it will be here in time for me to ride by this weekend. I will give you an exhaustive report as soon as I get a chance to really ride with them. I got the 26" and they are a bit larger than that when aired up properly. They do protect the rim very well which is another reason that I got them. They don't stick out past the fenders very far at all. I will report on the rolling distance when I post the review probably next weekend.
I will keep in touch!
