What is the difference between the 2002 JKAF650A1 and the JKAF650B1. When I go to buy kawasaki, it asks me to choose one or the other. I would love to know the difference. (I just barely got mine, and it is an A1). Does that mean that mine is more likely to have problems associated with early production jitters, and if so, why did the dealer still have it available clear into october.

If you can't tell, I am a worry freak.

I have had a lot of views, but no responses. Maybe nobody knows anything about this.

From what I can tell, Kawasaki labels their machines according to production runs where the letter is the version of that model, and the number is the number of years that the version has been in production. I remember looking at some parts micro-fishes for their KX bikes and seeing how they changed everytime a major revision was done. I'm not sure if this theory is applicable, because how many changes/updates did Kawasaki really make for the 2002 vs 2003 Prairie 650?!? If that holds true, than the B1 is the newer version of the 650 (2003 model year) and it has some significant updates. Otherwise it would be a A2.

Any Kawasaki dealers out there that may be able to clear this up???
