Its a round black **** with silver spring to the right of the carburetor. Check pg 43 of your owners manual for a picture.

That **** thing down by the carbs is the idle adjustment (cable from **** to idle screw). Aside from a choke, there is no "primer".

Nyroc, mine has a primer hooked into the rear carb. Page 2-2 in the service manual shows it also.

Nyroc, the Canadian model has a primer button on the rear carb as Nova said. There's a picture of it on pg 43 of the Cdn manual and it recommends using it to start in ultra-low temperatures. The manual recommends priming the engine 10-20 times when starting in temperatures below -20C (-4F). Is this something different on the Cdn model?

Ok, you got me. I was absolutely sure that mine didn't have one. I guess I never thought that the great white northern 650's would have one.

During my idle hours in the spring i was looking at the usa kawi web site. The part list showed the carb pump, so i presume all 650's have them, mine has.
How about everyone speaking up, maybe there are a lot of 650's without them after all one of the carbs is without a pump on mine, maybe in house ( usa stock) is without.
real handy item in light of the choke problems. ah!! well now we have to get someone to keep score. Jump to the head of the line to speak up , just knock those old ladies and kids out of the way.
