P 650 Clutch Durability
#11
Guys, thanks for all the advice and help! So I set the belt to the tight end and install the black spring. One more quick question, does the Kaw dealer sell the black spring or can I order it from someone else cheaper?

I have yet another question, this one in reguard to the black spring. I don't plan to put larger heavier tires on when I get my p 650 so is the black spring really a must? If I adjust the belt to the tight end of the specs will it be enough? I read on an old thread that if you use the black spring that the EBS will not work the way it should and the quad will free wheel on down hills. I don't know if I like hearing this! Is this true? Somebody please set me straight about the pros and cons of the black vs stock spring. I have a 01 Kodiak 400 and its great on down hills. I plan on turning this over to my wife when I get this new beast. I want this to be just as nice going down a hill as my Kodiak is, I just need more power man! Thanks for all the help.

The black spring is still a good idea even with stock tires. You can get the black spring from www.erlandsonperformance.com
