Default Prairie 650 Price

Hey GILTYLER,
Where did you buy your 650? I am thinking about buying a 03 650 with the camo plastic. I bought my 02 650 in June of 2001 and am ready to get a new ATV and there is nothing on the market that I would rather have than a 650. BTW, did that 6018 price include sales tax?

Default Prairie 650 Price

GILTYLER Hi,
Thanks for the info. I bought my present 650 from Kawasaki City , Lancaster. Forgot just what I paid for it. It was significantly less than what other dealers were asking, just a little over 6000.00. It is over there now, getting the second KEBC actuator installed. They replaced the first one last summer and now it has failed again. The sales guy there said he would have a trade quote for me when I come back to pick up my 650.

BTW, aren't you the guy who asked me what I would take for my A2500 winch. I replied with a price of $375.00. Guess you did not see it. Anyhow, if you are interested email at bengine02@netscape.net or call me at 972-962-4858.

Symtoms in both cases were the same. On the instrument panel, 2WD and 4WD lights constantly switched back and forth at about 1 second intervals. When releasing the throttle, there was no KEBC although you could feel engine compression slow down (very similiar to my 1999 Prairie 400 4x4) and the characteristic sound the actuator makes when the ignition is turned off was not there.

When I took it in last week, I asked the tech (which by the way appears to be much smarter than the average) about changes were made in the 03 650. One of the things he told me was that the electronics were changed so that the KEBC actuator would not be damaged if you ran the engine with the converter cover off. According to him, the actuator lever will not return to its proper position unless the converter cover is installed when running the engine, thereby, damaging the KEBC actuator. Must disconnect the KEBC electrical connector prior to running the engine with the converter cover off. I want to quiz him a little more about this when I go back to pick up my 02 650.

thats a great price. below cost as well pretty much. even with the 300 back it is close
dont know how these dealers exist with all these blow out numbers everyone talks about here
I havent sold one for less then 6600 + tax here in jersey and you cant find them that cheap. sure you see them shown for 5499 but that is plus 700 shipping 400 assembly and this and that

the yamaha dealers around here stick together and almost ever yamaha goes out over list. that is just the way it is up her eand if people just stopped paying for it Im sure it would stop. until then we arent going to discount

another thing about the price....it might have something to do with the 700 that is coming out and the dealers dont want to be stuck with them. this is why there are the 300 back on them. just a thought

pilothouse--- If you can, get a copy of the free magazine, "Ohio Auto and RV". They give 'em away at most large grocery stores around central Ohio. In it you should find an ad by a Kaw. dealer selling '03 P-650's for $6099.00 OUT THE DOOR+ any taxes. I can't remember the name of the dealer, but could probably find it. again. Maybe they are online(didn't think of that, 'till just now)!

Talked with the tech this morning. Furthur info is that the actuator is not damaged. It is that the actuator lever will not return to its de-activated position and you would have to manually push the actuator lever to its de-activated position. For the 2003 650, that will not happen as Kawasaki has modified the controller so that the lever will return to it's de-activated postion. Not sure I understand all this---but!!
