How much did you pay for your new Prairie650?
I just bought mine about a month or so ago I'd say.
I purchased a 2002 Prairie 650 (brand new), was just older stock.
02' Prairie 650: $5699
Destination Charge: $150
Assembly: $50
Total OTD: $5899
I didn't have to pay taxes, as I purchased it out-of-state.
You can get ATV trailers around here which are usually non-factory fabrications, just people that know what they're doing building and selling them for $475-$575 depending on what size.
I didn't buy a trailer, I just bought some ramps and carry it in the back of the truck. Ramps were $75 from the Kawi Dealer.
I bought mine in Mississippi, I live in Louisiana.
Also, something to keep in mind when you buy your 650 and watch out for it. Decide on what accessories you want prior to buying the quad, look up the prices for these accessories online and write them down. When you go into the dealer and he starts wanting to sell you accessories, don't let him get one over on you. He makes a good amount of his money selling you accessories because of the high markup on them. Know what these things cost normally and you'll protect yourself. If you have these prices written down with you when you go and the sources you can purchase them from, you can usually get the dealer to meet or beat those prices, especially because you're buying the quad from him at the same time.
Just keep a watch eye if they want to charge you an outrageous amount for something.

Nemmeh,
Thats a great price, what dealership did you get it at? I have been thinking about getting a P650 for sometime now and that is by far the best price I have seen on a new one. If you could post the name of the dealership and their phone # it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dirthead

Sure no problem...
Just looked at my receipt, I bought mine on 11/27/02 they had about 10 Prairie 650s and a good bit of 360s and other quads.

They are a small town dealer who sells Kawasaki, STIHL, Snapper equipment. They were very nice and friendly.
Give them a call, I'm sure they still have some stock left. They had a 2 camo ones, few green and red ones.

Thanks much for the replies. Some of you got great deals. How much margin do you think the dealerships make on these? Retail is 6999, I'm surprised to see ppl getting them for 6000 out the door.
How are ppl getting around taxes? If you buy it out of state no taxes? Is it like a car that you have to pay tax on it when you register it, or do these not get registered/license plates? What about farm use, i've seen some ppl say they didn't pay tax because its for 'farm use'....
Thirdly, any tips on trailer types would be great. I will definitely need a trailer and some sort of a ramp. Can't exactly ramp the quad up into the back of my Volkswagen :-)
