Sounds like it's not shimmed correctly. What was wrong with your last belt? It only went 300km?

I agree totally with novakaw650, sounds like you need to reshim and get a black driven clutch spring if you haven't already.

Fru,

Don't leave us all hanging... If you know about something that will help with belt life, other than the black spring and setting deflection tight, please let all of us know...

Thanks

That's to bad, man. Yes, impropershimming and no black spring makes the grooves come a lot faster.

Get the parts you need to fix the pulley and see how it works. Sometimes those grooves are still rideable. That front pulley is easy to work on. You don't need to pay $300 in labor. If you still need new sheaves, take the good parts off the old ones and put them on the new ones.

Might save you a few bux.

ADIRONDAK

I don't have any great new revalations about the clutch problems but I do have some used parts that could save destand33 some big time denero. One thing I have heard of guys doing is having the fixed sheeve machined out where the washers would be so the halves can fit closer together to compensate for the narower or streched belt. But thats probably old news to most of you.
