Prairie 360 shift grind

Prairie 360 shift grind
I have a new P360. It has 30 hours. I am very pleased with it except for the shifting. Going from neutral to reverse or drive, it usually grinds a little going in. The shop told me it was because it wasn't idling low enough, ie, during warm up with choke on. That isn't the case unless the idle is set too high. I never shift while moving and only shift at idle and still get a small amount of grind. Is this normal or is there an adjustment? I don't have a service manual yet. I know most of you guys have 650's but there seems to be a lot of similarities. Thanks for any help here...

It sounds like your idle might be adjusted to high, try lowering it & see if that helps. I have had 0 problems with my360 shifting. If the idle is not to high, & your not moving when shifting you should hear no grinding noise, just the sound of the trani locking into place. I belive the 360 & 650 are the smothest shifter's on the market.

I don't know about the 360 but on the 650 you would need to adjust the shift linkage. I had that same grinding on mine.
This is how you adjust the 650 according to Master NYROC.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the 360 and 650 are a bit different. Nyroc's tech page seems to address a shift problem while in gear. I don't have any problems after engagement going down the road in fwd or rvs, just the intital shift at idle. Will the linkage adjustment fix my problem? I looked at the disassembly on my 360 (to get to the linkage) and it looks like a major teardown. Is it different than the 650? This is my first ATV. It makes me feel like the clutch is out!!! (Just kidding)
Thanks again...
