howdy, prairiedust I start mine all the time from the seat with the pull start, my battery gets a little weak in cold weather ,and its just easer for me to do it that way. ps I'm 6'6" and 355lbs its not like I have to put my weight into it.

I found out the hard way that my Prarie 400 wouldnt even run with a bad battery or bad connection to the alternator/generator <--whatever these things have. They found a wire had come loose inside the plug and wasnt charging my battery or running my bike. Just another thing to look out for.

Could be 'hydro locked'. Has happened to me several times. Cylinders fill w/ gas from leaving the fuel petcock open. Same situation though, feels like the motor is locked up. Pull cord feels locked and the starter just ticks as it trys to turn it over w/ no luck. Next time this happens, use the pull cord (pull hard) to try and try to get it to turn at least once, maybe even rock the quad in gear a little. Then try hitting the starter. Should free up. This has happened to me when A) I left the fuel petcock open and B) when there was a temp change.
See Nyroc's web page 'tech tips' for hydro locked.
