Default Belt Shim Help

Installed Black Spring on my 03 Prairie, Belt was out of tolerance on the loose side.
Bike only has 10 miles on it.
Had a 1mm and a .6mm shim from factory took the .6mm shim out.
Belt now a little out of tolerance on tight side. Bike runs fine, but getting more whine out of
it now I think. With the low miles will the belt wear in or should I go to two .6mm shims?

Any help would be appreciated.

Disabled the belt light switch too.

Default Belt Shim Help

Just leave it. It works better tight like that (grabs really well). I have no shims in mine, and it still squeals with 700 miles on the belt. It seems like it isn't even wearing at all this tight.

Good thinking on the switch.

Default Belt Shim Help

Thanks Nyroc
Hate to think about trying to do that without your web page info.
Had a little trouble with the pipe cap trying to slip off center,
Put a hose clamp around the bottom edge to hold it in place, worked fine.
Thanks again

Default Belt Shim Help

I took out all of the shims and thought I was at the low end of the spec. It squealed in gear at idle(not moving) Got tired of hearing it so I measured it again with a fish scale. found out I was way tight. Anyway I think a little squeal is OK but I would make sure I measured it right. I'm sure you did but something to think about.
