prairie 650 clutch

i recently installed a aftermarket clutch spring (red spring) in my prairie and when i drive it now it hesitates for a few seconds before engaging. is that normal for a aftermarket spring? any help would be helpfull

Different colored springs are designed to engage the clutch at different rpms. If you find the red is too harsh, try a spring that engages a few hundred rpm lower. Contact the person you bought your spring from and they should be able to set you up.

If you want a little higher engagment all you have to do is shim the stock spring up. IF I my memorie serves me I think the ones that adjust your belt deflection are the same diameter and they give you alot of different thicknesess to play with. One of the techies at Kawi told me that is what they did on the 03s to make them feel snappier.
