Rebel,
Cut off the end at the weld or just after it and the silencer core will come out with the end. The core is only about 4" long and we removed it from the end before rewelding the cap back on. We cut the center of the core out from the outside of the cap and then removed the entire thing on the inside of the cap. This gives you a mostly stock apperance without the cores restiction.

Rammy, I think it all depends on how it is after the mod. You may very well need to rejet, but you need to see after you do the mod if it's running lean. I know I will have to rejet because mine is now running too lean after doing just the intake mods. Your's may be on the rich side and if you do just the mod, it may not need rejetting.

Parker,
Here's what I know so far. We had to replace the belt & the secondary clutch outside sheave on the nyroc piped bike.
Mods to my bike - 28" 589's on c-series
k&n with dynojet kit
Procircuit T4 complete
Mods to nyroc bike - 27" 589's on stock wheels
stock filter with stock jetting
Nyroc pipe mod, 6 - 3/8" holes & center of end baffle removed
Results - in a 300' drag the nyroc bike smoked me by 4-5 bike lengths everytime. Bottom & top end on both bikes were almost identical but he pulled me hard in the midrange. Maybe I could blame it on my 28's or his new belt. LOL
Anyway, we have a few more mods planned for each bike and a little more jetting to do. We may also reinstall his T4 and try the bikes against each other again now that he has his new belt installed. I'll keep you posted.

Just so I understand this correctly.... some of you guys are removing the spark arestor (the inner perforated pipe) and some are not.
Those of you removing the spark arestor are cutting straight threw the end, pulling the rest of the s.a. out of the muffler and then cutting the other end out of the cap? This is also noticibly louder?
Those that are leaving it in are cutting only the outside layer and then knocking the end off with a hammer? When refitting the cap after drilling the baffles how do you reseat the cap into the s.a. in the muffler? This is not very noticibly louder?

I left the preforated pipe part of the spark arrester in the exhaust, but removed al the packing and cut the inside end of the preforated pipe off. The preforated pipe is about a half inch smaller in diameter than the actual exhuast pipe that sticks out of the end of the muffler as you can see. Since I didn't have a jigsaw handy to cut that metal that connects the preforated pipe from the exhaust pipe, I just drilled 1/4" holes all the way around the preforated pipe. So now, even though it looks like my exhaust is just coming out of the preforated pipe, it is also coming out through all the holes that I drilled. I did not want to drill out my baffles to let more exhaust out and still have it choked going through the same size hole at the end. I added those holes to allow more exhaust out. And like I said, if I had a jigsaw handy, I would have completely cut the preforated pipe out. But now, I like it the way it is and it sounds too good to mess with it and I know I'm letting a lot more exhaust out that I was was when it was stock. I'm not good at explaining what I did and if I could, I'd take a picture of it to show what I did.

Scotia,
Did you and your buddy ever do any more testing to see how well the Nyroc modded pipe performed against the pro circuit t-4? Did your friend ever replace the nyroc mod with his old t-4 and race you again to see what difference it made?
happy trails...
