Default 650 gear whine?

I have been reading the posts for several weeks about the Prairie 650 so I bought a new 03. I like it so far but notice a lot of gear whine at most speeds. Haven't seen anyone else comment on this noise. I think it is possible to be related to the EBS system but not sure. I thought it would go away after breakin but I now have 150 miles on it and same sound. Other than that, everyting works well. Any ideas?

The gears in the tranny are square cut for strength. The trade off is the race car type whine.

I don't even notice it much any more or it has subsided.

I fully agree with partsman which helps alot when you are traveling with raptors etc... I seen people put homemade back bumpers on the 650 and that produces a whine when you give it fuel other than that it wouldn't concern me. You also would hear it more in low range than high range. I would feel for unnessary viberations instead of listing to the clutch. Listen for a squak at take off. The EBS really should never cause a problem with acceleration only slowing down.

I'm glad somebody posted that question, I was alittle concerned when I heard that whine, my P400 4x4 didn't make that noise but then again we are talking about the P650 and Dirty White boy brought up a good point about the gears being squared off for strength, the P650 certainly does have the strength!

Yep, it is those straight-cut gears whining. Mine quieted somewhat after about 600-700 miles, but still whines some.
