Default wont run in gear, plz help

i have a 2005 e-ton viper 90 i will only start and run if you hold the throttle a little bit. but then if u switch from N to F (put in gear) it imediatly shuts off. please help my little girl wants to ride.

Have you tried to get it to go with the rear wheels off the ground? Like a "no load" condition? I think it would be hard to tell if it's a carb issue or a transmission issue until you make sure the engine can actually spin the wheels at all.

If it doesn't idle without throttle input, the carburetor needs a good cleaning.

Default viper 90

i lifted it up got same results. i agree about the carb with the not idleing, but when i got it idleing with the N light on flip switch to F and motor dies F light flashes. thanks for any help much appreciated.

There has to be a switch somewhere not working correct.
My Kymco you have to apply the brake to shift or it stalls. maybe you have something similiar.

Welcome to the forum bcrguitarmx!

I agree with LT80, gotta be something wrong with a switch in the system ...or maybe a bad ground wire? maybe corrosion is grounding something that shouldnt be grounded?

Default runnin in gear now

thanks alot for the help, im new with this bike didnt know about holding the brake to put in gear it still wont idle but im goin to clean it real good and go from there
