Eton DXL-90 Question

Eton DXL-90 Question
I just bought my 5 year old a 07 Eton DXL-90 for christmas. Yes, I realize this is a big atv for a new rider but he has riden his cousins 50 often and I didnt want to purchase a 50 and then have to buy another in a year once hes outgrown it. I do plan to govern the speed down.
Anyway, I have been reading about the tether kill cords. Do you all recommend that I add an aftermarket one onto this atv until he gets use to it?
I appreciate any responses, I am a single mom and new to the whole atv world.
Thanks in advance!

Many of the Chinese atvs have a remote starter key fob that can kill the engine if jnior gets into trouble. While tether kill switches have their place I highly recommend the remote start kill. You can shut junior off from 200 feet away, advise them as to why then restart them again. They can also shut of and restart on their own, unless the keyfob is what shut them off. If so only the keyfob will restart the atv.
As about it at most chinese atv dealers.

Whether you use remote control radio links or tethers, just keep in mind that Etons and the generic chinese quads use different kill switch schemes and are not interchangable.
Generic chinese quads short the kill switch wire to ground to kill the quad. Etons need the kill switch pin grounded in order to run. Make sure your clear on what part you need...
