so the thumb kill switch checked out OK? does it have a rear tether umbilical kill under the seat towards the rear? so you've pulled the spark plug, grounded it against the jug/cylinder with the coil wire attached and cranked it and checked for spark? right?

kill switch checked ok. does not have teather. just check again. will spark for a secound or two, then quits. if you turn key off then back on will do the same.

let's go for the easy try now, change spark plug to the NGK brand. parts store ought to be able to cross reference whatever you got.

How many wires on your CDI?

The wiring diagrams I've seen for viper 90cc quads with reverse has a *lot* of wires on the CDI. Is this the case with your quad?

If so I can't help. The CDI is a multifunction device that does a lot more than generate spark. Unfortunately there is not enough info from the published diagrams to figure out what those functions are, and how they interact.

Is this 2 stroke?
Perhaps a manual for the Polaris sportsman 90 could help, Uses the same engine I believe. They are know for having stator issues with the 2 stroke.

Download free at this link, and do the stator tests.
