Default quad sparks 3 times then quits

A friend of mine has a 2005 e ton viper 50. His son was riding it and it quit. We can't get it to start now. We took the plug out and grounded it then turned the engine over. It will sparks 3 times then stops .When you let off the starter and try again it does the same thing sparks 3 time then quits.
Parts changed : Key Switch , cdi box, coil , spark plug, Stator twice one at a shop and one at home. still does the same thing any suggestion to try?

Welcome to the forums.
It sounds like it could be a poor ground.
I always add a ground wire from the frame to motor.
