Default New LT80 Loading Up

I just purchased a new 2004 LT80 for my son. We removed the factory restrictors, but we can't seem to get it to clean out. It loads up and sputters around like the plug is fouled, but I already checked that. Plus when you slow down and stop, it won't idle for nothing. This is very frustrating for an 8 year-old. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am probably going to take it back to the dealer next weekend to have him check it over. Thanks

do you mean you took out the factory air restrictors to the engine if so it should run lean with there being more air to the motor so there must be something eles wrong

Idling: Did you try the idle adjustment? (only screw on the carb)
You did remove both the carb restrictor under the slide AND the exhaust restrictor from the cyl/pipe area.
Another thing: the spark plug cap sometimes falls off and dont contact the plug properly.

LT80,

If you remove both of the restrictors, is there anything else you need to do? Or can you just remove them and leave it at that?

I got my kids a '04 lt 80, and will probably bug you with some more questions at some point. I'm trying to learn all I can by reading through all these different threads first.

Thanks a Bunch

Sometimes the dealer will add premix to the gas in the tank for the "break-in" period even though there is an oil injector on it. Try draining the tank, adding fresh gas, new plug, and see if that works.

put some duct tape over the top of the spark plug cap, the cap sometimes likes to pop lose.

Went to remove the restrictors today, and they were already gone. Dealer must have removed them.

I opend the throttle up for my daughter today. That little thing scoots with her on it, vs my fat butt on it

Looking forward to putting the A-arm extensions on, then figuring out what to do to the back.
