sorry guys, i know this one's been asked a lot, but I got to page 11 of the topics and can't find it!!What 2-stroke oil do you run on LT80? I know some guys said they took head off and it was pretty clean, and some leaves less carbon than others. will disconnecting factory injection and running 32:1 cut down on crud/deposits?

Some like Bel Ray. It suggests premix only. Polaris gold is good. Amsoil 2stroke injector oil is good. Yamalube 2-s is good. I use Castrol 2 stroke injector oil for air cooled motorcycles. Synthetics are better, but the main thing is to use oil intended for air cooled motorcycles. And if your sticking with oil injection, get one that is designed for injection systems. Do not use lawn and garden or outboard two stroke oil unless it's an emergency, like if your out of oil on the trail and thats all you can get a hold of, then don't fill the tank with it. Just use enough to get you by.

 

thanks, I'll make sure it specifies injector oil. If there's something that leaves behind less carbon, I will pay the extra to save the extra work later.

 

All of them claim less carbon and smoking on them now a days. Which is usually BS.lol. I think the synthetics are better for less carbon build up.

 

I like synthetics. I tell people to mix at what the oil suggests ie: amsoil@50:1 or superM@ 32:1
I care not for bean oil oils.

 

I ran Yamaha 2 S injector oil for the entire 5.5 years my son rode an LT80, with no problems at all, that quad has been sold 2 times since I owned it, and still running fine.
