btalon, do you happen to have a phone number for the shop that fixed your float so I can call them to see exactly what the problem was.

Thanks btalon!!! I spoke to Jerry today and he was a lot of help. Hopefully we are on track to get this thing straightened out.

 

Gotta love it. We adjusted the carb and it was still doing the same thing. Come to find out the gas cap was missing a rubber piece on the underside that allowed the gas tank to vent. Without this piece it would just choke the bike out and it wouldn't run. It is running great now. He will get to race it for the first time Aug 22. Does the cdi box make a big difference? I think the bike is really fast from the start but it sounds like there is more power in the engine that I am not tapping into. Will the cdi box help top end speed?
