I am giving up on the oil injector on my sons 50. What mixture does the pump give? 32/1?

Yes, many people start with 32:1 and further tweak their oil mixture depending upon spark plug color, and how much smoke it pumps out the tail pipe. Our unit is currently running 34:1 and in the future, I'll probably go down to 36:1. However, start with 32:1 and tweak from there. Oil brand and riding conditions do influence your oil ratio.

I never got around to disconecting the oil injection. What is involved with doing that? just disconect hose from tank? Will it inject air in to carb instead? Hope I dont sound stupid asking.

I did it to a kawasaki 120 and a suzuki 90. I just removed the pump and made a cover plate to cover the hole. Not sure on the eton. Did you plug the line? I would think it would suck air. I run 40-1 in all my 2 strokes, torco gp7. Been using it over 20 years, never fouled a plug.

No I didn't do it yet. I dont think it is pumping enough oil so I do mix 50:1 also. So now i am running a little rich and want to get that taken care of .

chubbysdad,

I sent you a PM with the Oil Injection removal instructions. Running rich??? Your factory pump may be working fine, expect the jets in your carb need to tweaked or upgraded to a different size. But if you feel removing the Oil Injection system will give you better control of your oil mixture, the details are within the PM I sent you.

Hope this helps...

The reason I say it is rich now is because the injection is not working to its max I believe because the plug was very light.. Thats why I mixed up a little premix also and now am running both until Iget it disconnected. thanks for the info.
