Hey guys. It is just exactly what I said. It only does about every third time I try to start it. When I push the butoon , it sounds like something grinding. I know this can not be good. PLease help.

 

There is something starting to go wrong in the starter.
Put a pull start on it.

 

hey guys...I hear some lt80's dont come factory with pull starters....is the gear that the pull starter hits still in there even if the pull starter wasnt factory?

 

Your right Bill, they do NOT come with a pull start.
The gear that it hits is actually part of the front clutch, so yes, it's in all of them.

 

Thanks guys. I will buy the pull start this weekend from Bike Bandit. Mine is a 1987 will the new pull start work fine on it? I have been told that every thing from '87 to '05 is the same and all parts are inter-changeable. Is this true?
