Well, it may be true that not many of us would have caught the lost washer..without a tear down and a manual. I think by and large, the tips offered were comparable to the same trouble shooting steps that a professional would have taken prior to pulling the carb apart and making that discovery. I agree that LT80 has probably forgotten more about the operation of one of these than most people will ever learn.
Removal of restrictions, and making changes to the efficiency of how the machine runs pretty much is universal no matter what you ride. If you increase air flow though a motor, then you must increase the fuel to balance out the mixture.... or you have problems.
