Yes, Jack Moore (LT80) also told me to use grease on our rollers as well but he did say use "very little" grease. I'll tell you one thing though, if you want to see a tremendous increase in power out of your 80, get new rollers and a new belt. The belt may look fine but it stretches pretty easily after a little wear and when you get a new belt get the oem one they are the best. LOL

Are there any aftermarket rollers for the LT80 cvt clutch with varied weights that won't wear as easily? Perhaps better plastic material. I've heard they exist but can't find them. Also, some cvt "experts" say that using all 6 lighter weight rollers is better than 3 or 4 especially on a modded motor. True or not? Are LT rollers different from Kasea and Eton cvt's, cuz I know WRH racing has these "special" aftermarket rollers for these other bikes.

We have always used all six stock rollers, not drilled or anything and our lt with the help of Jack Moore's motor mods will beat our big bored trx 90 on top end speed. The goal is to have the proper roller weight so the motor can reach it's power point when the clutch starts to engage. It also depends on how heavy your child is. Ours is a big child, he was about 90 lbs on it and we started out trying just 4 rollers to balance out, but it didn't work. That's why we are using all six but again that all depends on the weight of your child. Oh, I'm not sure if you guys are racing this quad or not but if you are I recommend getting a new polished ss bolt set to use on your clutch case. The stock ones are junk and strip out very easily. You have to open the clutch case after each race and inspect the rollers and make sure everything working properly. You can get a new bolt set on ebay for about 14.00 or from www.netgap.com.

Interesting. I've had our LT for 2 years. Never seen anything like that. The rollers are as clean as can be...
were they still greased and round? they usually take on out of round, elliptical shape, with flat spots.
I just looked at the 2 I pulled out, the don't appear to have any grease on them.
They are round as can be.

Getting ready to start racing again in a couple weeks
I need to pull the cover off again to inspect the current ones..
I'll see what they look like.......

I also have no mods to the motor at all..........

What happened to Jack? (LT80)
I have been trying to get in touch with him to see if he had some help for me.
My son Dalton ran his first race at the SC GNCC race and he did GREAT!! He got a solid 5th place after going into the woods in 10-12th place.

I now attribute my ignorance on the LT80 for his bad start. He just got outrun to the woods...We can't have that now can we??
I want him to stay in the stock class so I know there are limitations to what can be done.

Dalton before the Race..

One tired little boy

Mike

Cool, good for him..
What have you done to your LT so far??????

My daughter also raced the Stock class this year.
I just widened it out a lot, new tires, moved the needle clip up one spot, and removed 2 rollers.
That lil thing does great, I can hardly wait to mod one.
I just got a line on 2 LT80's for $800. Can't beat that price for 1 much less 2.
So hopefully I'll get them and build up one of them for racing

There were some issues on here that led to Jack having to be gone for a while
I hear that he will be back, just not sure when.
I think I have his phone number somewhere, but I'm sure somebody should have his e-mail address.
Maybe post a subject asking for info on how to get ahold of him, should be lots out here that can do that.
I need to also, I want him to build up one of my motors (maybe 2), but need to see the cost

Good Luck
