Default I need help deciding

Hi all. I've been reading everything here for several hours now. i am trying to buy a atv for my sons 6th B-Day. I eventually figured I would get the Redcat FX 55 based on the fact it's a little bigger than the standard 50, and has somewhat of a front suspension. However I cant find it in stock anywhere. Is there anything similar size/suspension/ price that anyone could reccomend, as I am running out of time. Thanks!!! Tim.

Welcome to the forum TimN, Have you looked at the yamoto 50 from raceway? It has dual a-arm front suspension and looks pretty good to me.

Hey thanks!! That does look pretty good. I was seeing what must of been last years, smaller version of that for about $600, looked way to small w/ no suspension. I'm tryin to find out exact size comparison on it. Thaks again.

The Yamoto 50 looks llike its a 60"L, while the FX55 is 48". Do you think the Yamoto 50 is to big for boy turning 6, he's kinda small for his age though.?

My take is the bigger it is the more stable it is. Some of the real small ones are so tippy they are more dangerous. Give John a call at raceway and ask him. Tell him mwq sent you. I have spent a bit of time on the phone with him and he seems real sincere and wouldnt steer you in the wrong direction. He is usually available saturday.

MWQ, I tried callin John, he had a message up he was closed this weekend. So I will call him back 1st thing Monday a.m., unless anyone can verify that a 41.5" tall kid would be able to reach everything on this quad, I;ll just place the order rite now. Thanks for all your help MWQ I did say you sent me on my message. Also by chance does anyone have a picture of a kid about that size on a larger framed 50(60") Length just to see if it looks like a fit. Thankyou all so much for your help. This site was a great find for me!!!

Glad to hear John takes a little time off. He is available about 12-14 hrs a day 6 days a week normally and deserves a break. I wish I could help you with your size concerns but it has been 11 years since I had a 6 yr old around and I have never seen a yamoto 50 in person. I am sure that John can answer all your questions though.

I havn't heard much about the Yamoto's and I'm wondering if they are reliable. I want to get a 50 for my son soon. My older son rides a Raptor 80 and I would like to get my younger son something that is as reliable.
