Default 04 pred 90 exaust on 03 pred 90

I was looking through my Rocky Mountain ATV catalog and saw a FMF exaust system for $139.99. But, it said it was for the 04 Predator 90. I think it will fit but I heard they changed things on the 04. What do you guys think?

it will fit. the predators changed in 05 when they added the reverse. the fmf is not much better than the stock pipe. if you want a good performance gain spend the extra bucks and get a good aftermarket pipe like the wrh.

In the early days, I was a big fan on the FMF pipe. From a white board perspective, it appears to be a very inexpensive "bolt on to stock engine and away you go" type pipe. Good for bottom to mid range power gains. For years, I wanted to put an FMF pipe on our '03 Pred-90. However, I didn't have the cash. Probably a good thing in the long run....

On different forums, I read the FMF pipe needs to be packed with "stuffing" every 20-30 hours of usage. If you don't re-stuff it, the pipe heats up. The hotter it gets, the harder it is on your engine. Besides that, the pipe will "melt down". It's seams come apart and who knows what other damage may happen inside it. Today, I changed my mind. Today, I do NOT want to install an FMF pipe on our Pred-90. Re-Stuffing, possible melt-downs and product returns / exchanges sounds like way "too much" hassle to me. Hopefully, a few of you can also vouch you read the same info on the other forums.

As a suggestion, investigate other pipe upgrades before this one. I've read many times over that pipes from the known Performance Builders have some really good ones. Yes, they are more dollars then FMF's "bolt on" pipe but based on historical posts, I don't see any complaints of the Performance Builder Pipes. If you can, try researching WRH Racing, Hetricks Racing and other dealer pipes as well...

Hope this helps....

Thanks. It's a good thing I didn't buy it. I would forget to pack it. I'll probably get a Hetrick Racing Exaust I found on ebay for $120.

It is a good thing, DO NOT BUY AN FMF PIPE FOR THE PRED 90!! They will not back up their product after it fails. Save your money. Wish I did.

I need to find a different exaust system for a really low price(around $140 or lower). That one on ebay I got out bid on. I'm 13 so I need some power in the bike so it'll accually pull me up hillclimbs.

I saw your pictures in your profile, and your right, you probably are too big for it, I bet you could sell it, turn around and get a blaster or something a little bigger.
