lt80 airbox
#1
My son's lt80 won't rev anymore, only on the choke. So i take the carb off, and there was a load of sand and mud.
I was really angry at myself, because i thought i mounted the airbox wrong.
But the airbox was mounted properly, and the filter was even clean.
Also the connectionrubber from the airbox to the carb was mounted properly, so how is this possible?

Thanks,
@lt 80, witch hose do you mean exactly?
The little hose from the right side of the engine to the lower part of the airbox, or the left side from the beltside?
I also want to do some clutch mods, i read here at this forum that the clutchshoe has to weigh a 170 gr.
This should be done by sawing just behind the friction material. But there is also a rubber ring that supports the clutchshoe.
Should this be left onto the shoe or just saw it off?
(sorry for using some strange terms, but i 'm from holland. To read is easy but the write is something else. So please be patient with me).

Looking at the right side of the carb, there are 3 hoses the far left is the petcock vaccum line, the midle is fuel feed, the far right is the vent hose I mentioned. It usually runs up the frame and under the hood.
Clutchs: you can make the rear shoes 170 grams each. Don't worry about the rubber things, throw them out.
You can remove 2 rollers.
You can shave the head .030. This will bump the compression up.
You can increase the front sprocket size.
That's about all the "stock" mods I recommend.
