Default LT 80 2002 wont start-think I have a big problem

I am totally clueless on 2 strokes. I had the tank off and put it back on and I tried to start and it just cranks and cranks with no fire. I took the wire off the plug and the whole engine case inside the black plastic casing is all covered with gas. I then pushed the button to start and a ton of gas came gushing out the top of the case. This didnt seem like a good thing to me. Can someone tell me if this is normal and post a picture on how the hoses are attached to the carb as I think I may have put them on the wrong fittings. Thanks@!!!

Fuel comming out isn't good.
Lets get the hoses correct and go from there.
Pull the hoses off the carb, turn the petcock to prime. Fuel will flow out the hose. put that hose on the middle hole on the carb. The other hose goes to the fitting on the back of the carb.

Try again, if the fuel still is a problem, remove the motor cover (the black plastic) and look for where the fuel is comming out.
Let us know.

I posted another message but when I reviewed this it sounds similar. I have no gas splashing but it is very hard to turn over, like high compression. (the top end was just done). I ran the motor after the top end was done and it was ok. I then removed the gas tank. It will not start now. When I remove the plug I get lots of gas. The lines appear to be on the right place except the right one, looking from the right side as you sit on the ATV goes no where. Is this correct. Any suggestion as to why I have excess gas or is this the way it should be. IS the line I mentioned jsut a relief to the air?
Thanks,
