LED Tail light???
.
Currently, we have 2 x 10W lights at the front of our Pred-90. We also have a combo tail light. To allow our battery to charge faster, I was thinking of replacing its conventional trail light with an LED combo tail light. LED uses less watts and thus, should put less stress on its system. For a picture, surf:

Just wondering, has anyone tried LED tail lights? Do they hold up to average trail riding bumps / jumps and extreme weather change conditions?
thanks.

LED Tail light???
Ive used led lights for years. They are very dependable and can take quite a bit of abuse. Its getting pretty common for the tail lights on the back of trailers, and semis to be led now, and they are on for along time and ive yet to see one thats not working. IAnd youre right about the current draw...its very small.
You can also use the bicycle tail lights, like from cateye, which use aa batteries. They are super bright, and the batteries last along time, and its not using any juice from the quad. That way, even if they shut off the motor, the tail light will still shine.
They also make led headlights, which dont let you see much, but lets others see you.

LED Tail light???
We use LED's on both the front and rear of our mini's for daytime running lights. The red rear lights are just LED side marker lights available at any auto parts store. The White front light is a motorcycle front marker light from a Honda dealer. We've had no problems from any of the four lights on the mini's.

Thanks for your feedback on the LED tail light. I wanted to take a "drive about" and buy it last night but our family suddenly got "pinned down". Our entire family is under home quarantine for the next week or so. Can only leave the house for emergencies. GGGRRRR!!!! Hopefully, I can do a "drive by" this store when I get immediate supplies (food, meds, etc.).
Thanks for your feedback.

For those of you who are thinking of installing a combo tail light and are undecided to use conventional or LED bulb technology, surf entire post of: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/led/led.htm
Some very impressive comparison pictures in the middle of the page. And, the LED bulbs allow more power to be used for front lights and/or re-charge the battery much faster.
Hope this info share helps others.....
