Default starter on lt80

My kids have an LT80. I just picked up the wiring diagram from my local dealer. When you push the starter button you can hear the starter turn with a scream. If you pull start you can get compression when it grabs. it is an '87. Electrically I have power going to the regulator on the red wire and nothing on the white with red stipe. There is no power going to the ignition coil or to the magneto. Do I need to replace the regulator and the ignition coil or is there something else wrong that I am missing. Thanks.

The starter is spinning but it isn't engaging to turn the motor?

It doesn't seem like it is engaging the motor, and when I pull start still does not spark and the regulator does not have power coming out of it.

LMAO!! You cannot pull start a CVT machine. I was hoping you meant with a pull starter.
Your problem is with the starter. It isn't moving out to engage the starter gear when activated.
